Musty Old Books and Tiny Treasures

While rambling through some boxes stored in our basement, I came across some old books.  They formerly belonged to my Mother in Law.  I took them from the box and began looking through them.  One of them was written in 1928, and my MIL had dated one of them when she got it in 1942.  The one from 1928 is really ragged, but has such beautiful character.  I immediately brought the books upstairs, wiped off some of their mustiness, tied them up with twine and inserted them into my decor.

She often referred to the Natural Home Remedies book.

The book farthest to the right is Selected Words of Stephen Vincent Benet-Poetry.  It has the handwritten date of 1942 inside the cover.

The book beside it with the ragged spine is the book copyrighted in 1928, and is also a book of poetry.  The other book is A Treasury of Good Mysteries.

The box in the vignette is one I bought at an antique store for $4.99, I think.
It has a yellow hue, and warms up the vignette.

I just adore these books!!
Look at this tiny treasure I found in one of the books!

It has patina that only age can give!  I can only imagine how old this is.
It reminded me of an old house key I have that belonged to my first MIL. (I've had two).
It found a place in this vignette too.
Aren't they just precious?
I think this is one of my all time favorite vignettes.
