Fall Colors in the Dining Room

I typically wait until after Labor Day to start my fall decorating.  Yesterday while in Wal Mart to pick up a prescription, I browsed through the fall decor, and saw these fabulous tablecloths.  I have recently noticed a couple of bloggers hanging table cloths for drapes.  And at $9.97 for each of these panels, it's a great bargain. Besides, the design just spoke to me!!  I haven't gone all out getting ready for fall, but I brought in different table runners, some rusty colored flowers, and changed the dining room from pinks and blues to rust colors.

Lots of pictures!!  Pardon the quality, they are taken with my Iphone.  My camera is shot!

Looking in from the family room.

Close up of the design on the tablecloth!

I have a large collection of table runners mostly from thrifting, and chose this one for its colors, and for the length.  I removed the drop cloth table cloth from the table, and the table protectors as well.  I wanted the wood to be seen for a while.

I removed the pink tulips from the silver coffee pot, and filled it with fall colors.

I switched places with the table and side cabinet.

I've already switched this buffet lamp for a small one with a burgundy shade.

This picture was a $3.00 find, and the egg basket holding the dried hydrangeas and babies breath was also a thrifting find.  I love dried hydrangeas, and think they go well with the ones in the picture.

Another runner from my stash.

I removed the pink from the book case, and tried to keep it as neutral as possible, except for the wonderful painted cabinet door that my daughter bought for me.
I brought some of my small plants from the screened porch to add to the bookcase.

So no pumpkins or any of those things, just some fall colors during the transition from summer to fall.  I think we are rushing it a bit, but it has been soooooooo hot this summer, and I'm ready for some cool, crisp air!

Another example of using thrifty finds for decorating on a dime.  I already had everything except the table cloths used as drapes, so makeover for $19.94!  Not bad!
